(Opportunity) Baltimore Museum of Art x VJMF Paid Legacy Public Programs Internship

We are seeking to hire one new Legacy Intern to work at the BMA and Foundation for the upcoming cohort which will run from Summer 2026-Spring 2027. While at the VJMF, the Legacy Intern will be onsite to catalog and inventory artwork and archival materials pertaining to the artist’s work and collection. They will work alongside visual artists and legacy specialists to learn how to care for the robust, multi-faceted collection.

The Valerie J. Maynard Legacy Internship is a partnership program between the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Valerie J. Maynard Foundation, to honor the legacy and vision of the artist who was a pioneering member of the Black Arts Movement, and a beloved icon of the Baltimore arts community (and beyond). This unique exchange provides interns with the opportunity to learn and gain experience in the museum field and in a private collection setting.

(Opportunity) Summer Arts for Learning Academy (SALA) Teaching Artist

The Summer Arts for Learning Academy (SALA) Teaching Artist is the heart and soul of the Academy. Teaching Artists are paired with a grade level Classroom Teacher for the entire program (Monday – Thursday). These pairs are responsible for delivering engaging, meaningful, and joyful arts-integrated instruction both in and through the arts daily.

(Opportunity) Inventory and Archive Intern

The Valerie J. Maynard Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory and Archive Intern to support the Foundation’s ongoing archival and collections management efforts. This junior role works closely under the guidance of the Archival Associate to assist with the documentation, handling, and preparation of artworks, photographs, documents, and other archival materials related to the legacy of artist and activist Valerie J. Maynard.
