Opportunities

Inventory and Archive Intern

The Valerie J. Maynard Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory and Archive Intern to support the Foundation’s ongoing archival and collections management efforts. This junior role works closely under the guidance of the Archival Associate to assist with the documentation, handling, and preparation of artworks, photographs, documents, and other archival materials related to the legacy of artist and activist Valerie J. Maynard.

The ideal candidate brings curiosity, organizational skill, and a commitment to cultural preservation. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging professional interested in pursuing a career in art history, archival studies, museum work, or cultural heritage.

Program Coordinator

The Valerie J. Maynard foundation is part of a consortium of organizations hosting The Helen Frankenthaler Foundation’s new initiative: a paid summer internship program for undergraduate students and recent graduates studying visual arts and adjacent fields. Interns will gain experiential knowledge, mentorship, and professional development through hands-on projects, site visits, and cohort-based engagement.

The Helen Frankenthaler Foundation is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the planning and execution of this multi-site summer internship program, hosted by our foundation and other arts and cultural organizations in the greater New York City area.

This part-time, term-limited role (April–August 2026; approximately 16–24 hours per week, depending on program phase) supports program logistics and budget, scheduling, communications, and intern engagement, while working closely with the Foundation’s Manager of Educational Initiatives and partner organizations. The position is based in New York City with a hybrid schedule and regular local travel. Full details and application information are available on the Foundation’s website and in the attached job description.

Applicants are required to submit a cover letter and resume combined into a single PDF. The file should be named ‘LastName_FirstName_ProgramCoordinatorApplication.pdf‘ and sent via email to hr@frankenthalerfoundation.org by Friday, February 20. Applications that do not follow these instructions may not be considered.
